2/28/2023 0 Comments Dell brightness not working![]() Not an issue or anything, but just something I’ll have to switch. ![]() You have to have it installed directly to have that option, right? I reinstalled Windows 10 to test a theory and have been fiddling with this off of USB lately. I’ll try switching over to the beta channel and see if that helps, though. If ieframe.dll is to blame for this issue, the good news is you can fix it by opening up an elevated CMD prompt and running a couple of SFC commands meant at repairing this file. It seems to be permanently set to 100% all the time.Īnd Forrest, the BIOS is super generic (and totally up to date) and doesn’t have anything related to brightness whatsoever, and the keyboard shortcuts don’t make any difference either. Corrupted ieframe.dll element This dynamic link library file (ieframe.dll) is responsible for breaking a lot of things on Windows 11 including the ability to adjust the brightness. I have Cloudready installed on several different setups, and this is the only machine that doesn’t have any logical (or illogical) way to change the brightness. It doesn’t change with keyboard shortcuts, although it shows the slider moving back and forth. It cannot be VISIBLY changed at the command line level. Well, my problem is that the slider on the “R side” (I’m assuming you mean right side?) moves just fine but has no visible impact on the brightness level. ![]() ![]() The brighter something is, the more nits it puts out on the visible spectrum, right? The human eye can ascertain changes in color and luminosity pretty easily. By brightness I mean brightness, plain and simple. ![]()
